Conservatory Admissions

The Sunderman Conservatory of Music offers a superb and distinctive music education, deeply-rooted in a liberal arts setting. Therefore students wishing to enroll in a music degree program must be admitted to Gettysburg College by the Admissions Office through the standard application process, and must be accepted for study by the Sunderman Conservatory faculty through an audition.

Sunderman Conservatory Auditions

Auditions for admittance to the Sunderman Conservatory of Music for the 2017-2018 academic year are now closed. Students who are still interested in auditioning for admission to a music degree program and have not performed an audition may contact us for an appointment AFTER they have been accepted to Gettysburg College. Auditions will also be held during the orientation days prior to the start of the fall semester. If you have any questions or extenuating circumstances regarding conservatory auditions, please contact Dr. Amanda Heim, Coordinator for Recruitment, at or 717-337-6146.

Meet Paul McShee

Academic rigor and opportunities to perform within the Sunderman Conservatory were ultimately what made Paul McShee, a native of Switzerland, decide to attend Gettysburg.  Last year Paul competed in and won the Sunderman Conservatory's first annual Concerto Competition, getting to direct and perform a flute solo with the Gettysburg College Symphony Orchestra at the Majestic Theater.
