Accepted Students: Class of 2021

Congratulations on your acceptance to Gettysburg College! We would be happy to speak with you regarding your financial aid award or to review options for financing a Gettysburg education.

Required Items to Finalize Your Financial Aid Award
Deadline: May 1

  • Submit the FAFSA and PROFILE (due January 15)
  • Use of the IRS Data Retrieval Tool within the FAFSA OR signed copies of 2015 IRS Tax Returns and W-2 Forms (for Parents and Student).
Please be aware that the IRS Data Retrieval Tool within the FAFSA is currently unavailable, however prior use of the Data Retrieval Tool satisfies this requirement.
  • The Gettysburg College Reconciliation Worksheet (available via myGettysburg-myFinancial Aid)

Financial Aid awards are preliminary until all of the required documents are submitted. You will be notified via email or letter when your financial aid award has been finalized.

If there are significant changes in family or financial information from what was submitted on the FAFSA and PROFILE, the Office of Financial Aid will review a student’s award and determine if adjustments are necessary.

The Office of Financial Aid will follow up to collect additional information from students whose FAFSA records have been selected by the Department of Education for Federal Financial Aid Verification.

    Financing Options at Gettysburg College

In addition to need-based financial aid awards and academic merit scholarships, there are many financing options available to students and families at Gettysburg, including an interest-free 10 or 12-month payment plan.

We encourage you to contact the Office of Financial Aid at or 717-337-6611 with any questions as you determine what is best for your family.

    Outside Scholarships or Other Aid

Outside scholarships or other forms of financial aid that are not listed on your Financial Aid Award Notification should be reported to the Office of Financial Aid by completing Complete the Outside Scholarship Form.

If necessary, adjustments will be made to a student's financial aid award by reducing self-help (student loans or work-study).  When the outside scholarship exceeds the amount of work-study and/or loan awards, the Gettysburg College grant may need to be adjusted.

    Renewing Financial Aid

Gettysburg students and families must reapply for need-based financial aid each year by submitting the FAFSA by April 1. Financial aid awards for continuing students are mailed home in mid-June.

The CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE is not required for continuing students. Renewal of academic scholarships is based upon annually meeting the cumulative GPA requirements for each scholarship.
